Domestic SAP Calculation

Domestic SAP Calculation

The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP Calculation) is the UK Government’s approved methodology for calculating the energy performance of new built or converted dwellings. A SAP is carried out to show compliance with the Building Regulations (Approved Document L1A or Approved Document L1B) when undertaking a new domestic build, converting an existing property into any number of dwellings, or justifying glazing in a new extension or a conservatory open to the house. SAP Assessments are also sometimes called SAP Calculations, SAP Ratings or SAP Certificates. SAP calculates energy costs for heating, lighting, ventilation, and CO2 emissions. It is used to comply with Building Regulations and generate Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). Here’s how our process works: • We discuss your needs and gather information about your property. • Our assessor collects data from the proposed design important to the energy performance of the building. • We analyze the data and generate a comprehensive SAP model, including a report. • We can provide actionable recommendations to enhance your property’s energy efficiency.
